spring 1999 12”w x 10”l

A 1999 Neiman Marcus commission to produce a cover for their April 1999 catalog "The Book". The theme was spring with the only stipulation being that the design include a butterfly and be somewhat masculine. The images above were created using paper of varying texture and sheen, gold thread, butterfly images and thin metal wire – all collaged to produce a subtle relief which would capture the light delicately; invoking a sense of the freshness of spring.
